Machu Picchu | Peru | Aguas Calientes | Scenic Train | Incan Cities | Hot Springs in Peru | Banos Termales
The scenic train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes was perfect for getting to the town at the foot of the Machu Picchu mountain. The town is well known for its hot springs enjoyed since Incan times. Now called BaƱos Termales, the springs are still popular and said to have many healing properties. Today, the hot springs are tapped and flow out into several pools, each at different temperatures. We couldn't resist the opportunity to visit with other travelers at this famous spot while enjoying soaking. Although getting there required an uphill hike, it was well worth it!

Do you enjoy soaking in a hot tub?
It's one of our favorite ways to relax after a long day of traveling. Whether we are on a journey in our RV or traveling internationally, we love seeking out a place where we can visit with others and soak. While this is not as easy today, we are hoping that days like the one we spent at Banos Termales in Aguas Calientes will return again soon!
