Wildlife lovers are sure to enjoy visiting Yellowstone National Park. Both black bears and grizzly bears call the park their home. There are plenty of warning signs throughout the park reminding visitors to stay a minimum of 100 yards away from all bears. The only exception is when safely inside a car when a bear passes nearby. That's the cause of bear jams - people stop in their cars to get photos of bears!

Have you ever been caught in a bear jam?
During our summer 2017 visit to Yellowstone National Park, we experienced our first bear jam! While driving along one of the main park roads, we came to a place where cars seemed to be stopped for no reason. As we slowly moved forward, we finally saw a bear off to the side in the distance - just roaming back and forth. Since bear sightings are not that common, it's understandable why people want to stop and take photos!
