Famous Big Tree is Found Near Goose Island State Park

One of the largest oak trees in Texas is found near Goose Island State Park in Fulton, Texas. The tree was probably the largest until there was some storm damage. This tree is estimated at an astounding 1000 years old and - it is still living!

We recently revisited the amazing Big Tree on the Texas Gulf Coast near Goose Island State Park. It is estimated that the tree is 1,000 years old! There is a nice little park around this tree, and, surprisingly, the tree is located only 1000 yards away from the bay.
