Views of Cartagena's Walled City from Above

A total of about seven miles of stone walls completed in the late 18th century protected the city of Cartagena, Colombia. Ascending a ramp near San Pedro Claver Plaza will take you up to the ramparts of the Walled City. From the bastion, there's a great view of the city from above plus the waters surrounding the port city.

Social Media Description

Do you do you own thing or listen to recommendations for spending your vacation days?

Although the port city of Cartagena, Colombia is surrounded by water, everyone recommends exploring Old Town rather than going to the beach. We've had several port days in Cartagena, and have learned more and more of the city's fascinating history each time. Exploring the walled city is fun, but next time I'm going to find a safe nearby beach where I can spend the day!

What would be at the top of your list if you spent time in Cartagena, Colombia?
