Wander the Interior and Exterior of Kansas' Capitol Building


    

The Kansas State Capitol building, located in Topeka, is a must see for both history and architecture lovers. The building can be explored on your own or on a free guided tour. Standing on the lower floors, you get a unique perspective of the dome. Willing to climb the 296 steps to the top? Imagine the more up close and personal view ... and see the city's skyline!

What capitol buildings have you toured?

While in Topeka, we decided to spend part of our afternoon exploring the Kansas State Capitol building. I sure wish we had more time to take a guided tour (free) and to climb up the nearly 300 steps to the top of the dome!

Fun fact: Although the diameter is smaller, the dome of the Kansas State Capitol building is taller than the United States Capitol dome!
