Have you heard of Chimney Rock?
Since we visited Chimney Rock in Wyoming last year, we decided to add North Carolina's
Chimney Rock to our itinerary for this year! I was excited to be able to see the view from above since you
can only see the Wyoming rock formation from below. We cheated and took the elevator to the main
viewing platform. From there, we hiked further up to three other viewpoints and then all of the way down
and around to Hickory Nut Falls.
Fun fact: The final 17 minutes of the 1992 movie, The Last of the Mohicans, with
Daniel Day-Lewis were filmed in Chimney Rock State Park!
