After staying up all night watching the famous Rio Carnival Parades in the Sambadrome, we had the opportunity to attend an authentic street party. These parties can be found on many days and all throughout the city during Carnival season. Although we were VERY tired, we didn't want to miss seeing how the locals celebrate.
The street party had started in the morning before we arrived, and continued on even after we had left. There were vendors with food and drinks for sale, games, music, singing and dancing - just all around lots of family fun.
We were definitely in need of sleep once we returned to our cruise ship, but both events were truly once in a lifetime experiences!
