Cruises | Croatia | Mediterranean Sea | Tower Kamerlengo at Trogir | Medieval Fortresses

Check out the Tower Kamerlengo at Trogir, Croatia

When cruising the Mediterranean and stopping at Split, Croatia, we took a bus to the nearby town of Trogir. The medieval Tower Kamerlengo is an interesting site that was very well positioned to protect the port. In the Middle Ages, this was a heavily traveled area and there were many ways for the region to be attacked. Fortunately, this fortress provided much needed security.

Social Media Description

Would you travel by bus from the city of Split to Trogir in Croatia?

We did just that, and are so glad that we did! First of all, our bus ride was very interesting as Santa Claus was on the bus with us - and it was nowhere near the holiday season! Then, walking through the off-the-beaten-path city of Trogir was definitely worth our time! Exploring old fortresses lets you actually stand in a place where history really happened!

What's your favorite off-the-beaten-path adventure?
