This Great American Package Store is located in Gun Barrel City, Texas just over an hour southeast of Dallas. Gun Barrel City is the epitome of small town America! This "Willie for President" mural was actually painted prior to the 2016 presidential race on the drive-thru wall of the package store.

Have you ever heard of Gun Barrel City, Texas?

We had to make a last minute change when we were notified that a campground that we had planned to stay in was closed due to flooding. After searching online, we found a place in the small town of Gun Barrel City. I have to admit that, even as a Texas native, I had never heard of it!

We love exploring new places, and ended up having a great few days. Since we always love taking photos of murals, one of our favorite sites in the city had to be the "Willie for President" mural!

What's a favorite small town that you had no expectations for but ended up enjoying?
