A short water taxi ride took us from the cruise port area past the Emerald Princess and right to the dock at Grand Anse Beach. We found the perfect place to relax on the sand in the shade of some trees and enjoyed several hours. After researching what to do during our port visit in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, we settled on the St. Vincent Botanical Gardens. In our half-day on Ilet du Gosier, we were able to explore the entire island (yes, it is tiny) on foot. A taxi plus a short ferry ride took us from Guadeloupe's largest island (Grand Terre) to the more remote Gosier Island. Since this was our first visit to Guadeloupe, we did some research before disembarking the ship. We found a recommended spot for snorkeling and we had our snorkel gear - so it seemed like a good match. The downside was that getting there required both a taxi and ferry ride. The island of Guadeloupe is a region of France, so the island's currency is the euro.
