Portugal | Lisbon | Day Trip | Evora | UNESCO | Praca do Giraldo | Temple of Diana | Cathedral | Church of St. Francis | Chapel of Bones | Igreja de Santo Antao
Evora's main square, the Praca do Giraldo, is a great place to begin exploring the city. After all, Evora's historic center has been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. If your time is limited, a few must see places include the Temple of Diana, a Roman Temple that is walking distance from the center. The Chapel of Bones, one of the most unique chapels of the Church of St. Francis, is filled with more skulls and bones than you can imagine. Finally, the architecture and interior decor of the Cathedral of Evora will round out your short visit.

Our time in Evora was limited so we started off with lunch just off the main square. After being greeted by a heavy rainstorm, we joined our tour group to see a few of the city's other historical sites - including the cathedral and quirky Chapel of Bones!
