California | Kings Canyon National Park | General Grant Grove | General Grant Tree | Fallen Monarch | Centennial Stump | Hiking | Sequoia National Park
One of the three largest living sequoia trees on earth is located in California's Kings Canyon National Park. From the General Grant Tree Parking area, a one-mile hike on a paved trail will bring you past the "Fallen Monarch" (which you can actually walk through) and "Centennial Stump" to General Grant Grove. The General Grant Tree is over 1,500 years old and stands 270 feet tall.

Social Media Description
With our RV parked in Three Rivers, California we took the short drive to Sequoia National Park's Ash Mountain entrance. We then did the longer drive to the neighboring Kings Canyon National Park (about 1 1/2 hours) on our first day. Our first stop was the hike to General Grant Grove.
Fun fact: In 1926, President Coolidge named the General Grant Tree the nation's Christmas tree in 1926.
