California | Sierra Nevada Mountains | Sequoia National Forest | Sequoia National Park | Kings Canyon National Park | Hume Lake | Boat | Kayak | Swim | Fish | Hike | Picnic
When picturing what to do at national parks, the first vision that comes to the mind of many people is hiking. Visitors to either Sequoia or Kings Canyon National Parks will find a beautiful lake tucked into the Sierra Nevada Mountains and surrounded by the tall trees for which the parks are so well known. Perfect for enjoying a picnic lunch, Hume Lake is popular for swimming, boating, kayaking, fishing, biking and even hiking. The mountain lake retreat is often filled with both youth and adults participating in a Hume Lake Christian Camp.

Social Media Description
On our first day of exploring Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, we noticed a photo of Hume Lake on one of the many informational signs. Both the description and the photo lured us to take a detour on our planned drive to see the area. What a great decision that was - this mountain lake is perfect for a picnic lunch, some rest and relaxation and for those interested in water sports!
