Portugal | Lisbon | Day Trip | Sintra | Peña Palace | National Palace of Pena | UNESCO | Portuguese Monarchy | National Monument | Interior Decor
Although the National Palace of Pena (Palacio de Pena or Pena Palace) is open for tourists, the President and other officials of the country do use the site for important state events. What visitors see today is a part of the royal collection showcased in a setting with stained glass windows, a courtyard and ornate wall and ceiling decor. Be on the lookout for sculptures, furnishings, chandeliers and other unique decor as you stroll through the interior of the palace.

The exterior architecture of Pena Palace is what made us think of a fairy tale, but the interior design gave us a view of a property still in use by Portuguese officials today!
