Every Visit to Rapid City's Art Alley is Different!

The walls of a block long alleyway between 6th and 7th Streets in downtown Rapid City are filled with multiple colors sprayed straight out of the cans of spray paint. Prior to leaving their mark, each artist must obtain a permit for the specific site that they wish to paint. The art changes regularly (sometimes even multiple times in a day), so visitors likely see different art during every visit they make.

Social Media Description

Have you seen an art alley similar to Rapid City's where the art frequently changes?

We've seen street art all over the country, but I believe that Rapid City is the first place that we've seen an alley where the street art changes regularly. Some of the artists chose to support causes, others shared personal or political beliefs. The art ranged from verbiage to cartoons and abstract to landscapes. Each mural truly was unique. And, since the art changes regularly (sometimes even multiple times in a day), it is highly unlikely that any of the artwork that you see here will still be on display!

Which of these 10 murals is your favorite?
