Is Oklahoma's Oldest State Park the Best State Park?

With nine campgrounds having RV sites, Lake Murray State Park is the largest of Oklahoma's State Parks. We camped in two of the nine campgrounds and had great experiences in both. Since the state park is located less than five miles east of Interstate 35, we will definitely return. It's both convenient and has a wonderful atmosphere!

Do you favor RV parks or campgrounds when planning a getaway in your RV?

In our opinion, there are benefits to both. It's hard to beat RV parks that offer a resort type atmosphere with swimming pools, hot tubs and more. But, we also love the more traditional camping feel of campgrounds. As we headed north toward South Dakota, we spent three nights at Lake Murray State Park in Oklahoma. It was our first stay in the park, but definitely won't be our last! Most of our favorite campsites had access to the lake - and the lake is where you would have found us each afternoon during our hot summer stay.

When you have the option, do you tend to choose campgrounds or RV parks?
