According to various reports, Bottlenose dolphins are frequently sighted in the waters of Matagorda Bay surrounding Port O'Connor as well as other coastal cities in Texas. These graceful creatures are often found swimming alongside boats, "performing" (jumping for boaters), following shrimping boats or just playing in the water. Surprisingly, some of these mammals can sometimes live up to 60 years!

We spotted a few dolphins when we were boating around the bay and also when we returned to Froggie's Bait Dock. It was fun watching the kids get so excited as they fed the dolphins their afternoon meal!
