Our recent visit to Nashville would not have been complete without a stop at the American Pickers Antique Archaeology shop. The retail store is located in an old car factory building. One of the prized finds when hunting for antiques are these glass globe top gas pumps from the 1930s-40s. (I've even had the chance to pump gas from some pumps similar to this one - it is my only connection to the history of the gas industry!)

Do you watch the American Pickers?
We both enjoy this show on the History Channel. It's fun to see what they find, learn a little about the history and also watch the pickers negotiate for their finds. Since we were in Nashville, we decided that we had to check out the store. There's lots of interesting things from their picking trips like this pump to "gas up the hot rod, and hit the road"! Of course, there are also more than enough souvenirs with the Antique Archaeology logo!
