Egypt | Alexandria | Great Library of Alexandria | New Library of Alexandria | Bibliotheca Alexandria | Rare Books | Museum | Art Gallery | Research Center | Planetarium
There are lots of questions and not many answers about the burning of the Great Library of Alexandria, thought to be among the largest libraries of the ancient world. Construction began on today's New Library of Alexandria (or Bibliotheca Alexandria) in 1995 and the library opened in 2002. Located near the site of its predecessor library, the new library is actually six libraries in one including a rare books collection, children's library and library for the visually impaired. It's not just books housed in the library - there are museums, art galleries, research centers, exhibitions, a planetarium and more.

Since the more famous Alexandria Library was burned down many years ago, the next best place to visit was The New Alexandria Library. Even though it doesn't date back to "Ancient Egypt", it is an amazing place to explore!
