Utah | Torrey | Capitol Reef National Park | Chimney Rock Trail | Chimney Rock | Hiking | Sunset Hike | Natural Spire
The Chimney Rock Trail at Capitol Reef National Park offers a popular 3 1/2 mile hike with views of the natural spire. After reaching the point where you have to decide whether to go right or left on the trail's loop followed by an uphill section of the trail, you'll also be rewarded with views of both Waterpocket Fold and Fruita from above. (It is said that, if your plan permits, sunset is one of the best times to see this view.)

We didn't have enough time (nor energy) to hike the entire 3.5 mile Chimney Rock Trail, but we enjoyed hiking the first part of the trail. The shorter hike gave us views of the spire from different angles than we saw from the road.
