How do these Double Arches Happen?

Located in the "Windows Section" of Arches National Park is Double Arch, a favorite because it's both amazing and relatively easy to get to on foot. Named for the two arches that share the same base rock, it is believed to have been formed hundreds of millions of years ago. The arches seen today were created by a combination of salt and water plus freezing and thawing which caused the rock to break down into the incredible double arch that we see today.

How many of Utah's "Mighty Five" have you visited.

We've only made it to four, and although they are each amazing in their own way, one of our favorites was Arches National Park. From the "Delicate Arch" to "Double Arch", the formations within the national park are truly incredible. Like Double Arch, many of the arches only require a short hike to see them up close - another plus!

Which of Utah's national parks is your favorite?
