"If You Build It, They Will Come!"

The site of filming for much of the 1989 Academy Award nominated film "Field of Dreams" is located in Dyersville, Iowa. Today, guests can walk around the field and surrounding corn field, watch players on the field, or even join in on a game of baseball! Admission to the field is free and tours of the Kinsella family farm home can be scheduled at $20.00 per person. As you would expect, concessions are available at "The Stretch" and there's the "Baseballism Field of Dreams Store" offering lots of souvenir options.

Have you visited a movie filming site?

Since we were in Iowa, we wanted to spend some time at the site where the movie "Field of Dreams" was filmed - especially after recently watching the Filed of Dreams MLB game played at the site. We started our visit with a 30-minute guided tour of the "Kinsella family farm home". It's been a long time since seeing the movie, but our guide made it seem like yesterday. (The 3-bedroom home is now also available for nightly stays!)

No visit would be complete without watching some baseball (I think there's always a pop-up game going on) and, of course, walking through the corn fields. There's even a corn maze - and trust me, it's not super easy to find your way out!

What movie sites have you visited?
