Since 1964, Goblin Valley State Park has been open to citizens and visitors of Utah. Anyone with an interest in geology will love spending time at this state park. The park is filled with uniquely shaped sandstone formations that are often compared to goblins, hence the name of the park. It's the combination of wind and water that is credited for both the eroding and removal of the stone creating the interesting shapes.

During the first few weeks of our RVing journey, when we mentioned visiting Capitol Reef National Park, two different couples recommended a day trip to Goblin Valley State Park. We are so glad that we listened and spent a day exploring this unique park that was once described as "Mushroom Valley".
