Similar to origami, but made of towels rather than paper, towel animals are quite popular with some cruise ship passengers. For those who have been cruising for decades, one of the biggest changes to the towel animals is the way they now "come to life". In more recent years, what used to be a folded white towel now has googley eyes, sometimes wears a passenger's glasses, reads the daily planner, etc.

After 20 days exploring on our own, we again boarded the Adventure of the Seas. Since it was a transatlantic cruise, we had very few ports of call (actually only 1 due to an itinerary change), so we mostly enjoyed relaxing. We were greeted by my favorite towel animals when we returned to our cabin on a few evenings.
