Grabbing a Photo of the Stingrays at Stingray City

One of the most popular places for anyone visiting the Cayman Islands is Stingray City. It's one of the few places in the world where humans can wade in waist deep water with stingrays swimming about. A tour bus picked us up right across from the cruise ship port and drove us to the launch point. From there, a boat took us about 25 miles away from shore where enjoyed almost an hour with these amazingly friendly sea creatures!

Our 2019 visit to Stingray City in Grand Cayman was loads of fun. Even with many other boats all sharing the same area of the water, we still got to spend some quality time with stingrays swimming around us!

A sandbar in the bay is only about 3-4 feet deep. Somehow the stingrays know that the boats are there to see them. They are all friendly and seemingly come by to say hello. Our guides were very helpful with taking photos of each passenger with the stingrays. But, if you have a water camera, you can easily grab a shot as a stingray swims by your feet.
