Playing Games with the Iguanas at El Cedral on Cozumel

On several of our port days in Cozumel, Mexico, we have explored the island on our own. We have had loads of fun renting old broken down Volkswagen Convertibles and driving around most of the island's perimeter each time. During most of our visits we have made a stop at the city market area known as El Cedral. There's always someone there wanting you to take photographs with their "pet"!

Do you ever cave in to the locals trying to earn a living by letting visitors pose with their animals?

It's not something that we usually do - for a variety of reasons. On one of our visits to Cozumel's El Cedral, however, we couldn't resist taking some photos with the iguanas. Since it is not something that we regularly do, posing with the iguana turned out to be lots of fun. (And, maybe, a local was able to have a little extra money from a tourist!)
