Do you like penguins?
In January 2018, after visiting Machu Picchu in Peru, we cruised from San Antonio, Chile around Cape Horn. One of our favorite ports was Puerto Madryn, Argentina. Stacy organized a private tour for a small group of our fellow passengers for a day at El Pedral.
The 40+ mile drive from the port took us to several viewpoints including Punta Ninfas where we saw elephant seals. From there, we headed to the farm known as El Pedral. One of our favorite parts of the day was spending time with the colony of Magellanic penguins that returns each year.
There were thousands of these cute critters. We walked along the beach and sat on logs just watching in amazement at the penguins - and, of course, we took tons of photos. Before returning back to the port, we spent some time on the farm and were served a traditional lunch. It truly was a perfect day!
Where have you had a memorable encounter with penguins?
