Founded in 1866, Granbury, Texas is probably best known for its downtown Historic District where many buildings have been restored and now have Historical Markers. Located just 30 minutes from the gigantic Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, the much smaller city has a charm all of its own. A grant that the city won in 2015 helped to transform the historic square into a more pedestrian friendly zone.

Social Media Description

I learned about the city of Granbury, Texas in my teens when some family friends moved there. It's been on my "I wanna visit" list since then, and over 40 years later, I finally made it. We only had a day, but that was enough to explore the city's historic center and surrounding area on foot.

Fun fact: Granville's Downtown Square was the first Texas town square listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
