It's Fun to Be a Kid Again at John Deere Pavilion

One of the 4 pick-up/drop-off docks for the Quad Cities Channel Cat Water Taxi is John Deere Commons in Moline, IL. Unlike most museums, visitors are encouraged to touch, climb and even sit in the driver's seat of the huge equipment that John Deere is known for. Even when the doors to the pavilion are closed, there's some equipment outside that will give you a taste and you'll yearn for more. Plus, the nearby store is perfect for buying a John Deere souvenir!

Social Media Description

Have you ever visited any of the Quad Cities?

The cities of Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa plus Rock Island and Moline, Illinois are known as the Quad Cities. To be honest, I don't believe I had even heard of them until just before arriving in to the area! One company that I had heard of is John Deere, and Moline is home to the John Deere World Headquarters.

We spent our day riding the Channel Cat, an open air water taxi which travels a small section of the Mississippi River stopping at three of the four Quad Cities (Bettendorf, Davenport and Moline). Passengers can get off, explore and rejoin the taxi later in the day. Although the John Deere Pavilion was closed, we had fun acting like kids as we climbed on the farm equipment located near its doorstep!

What would you want to do if you found yourself in the Quad Cities?
