In 2013, the land in Taos, New Mexico known as the Rio Grande Del Norte became a National Monument. The area is popular for outdoor activities including hiking, kayaking, fishing, mountain biking, rafting and even hunting. It's reported that those who enjoy viewing wildlife may get lucky to spot antelope, bobcats, elk, foxes, mule deer, otters, prairie dogs, sheep ... and maybe even black bears.

As we started exploring the area around Taos, we noticed a sign for the Rio Grande Del Norte National Monument. Great views from the bridge and lots of people enjoying a weekend afternoon on the river!
