Jemaa El Fnaa, the main square located in the heart of Marrakech, is full of activity both day and night. The square dates back to the 11th century when both travelers and locals met up with traders to find goods from around Africa, Europe and the Middle East. While goods, foods and spices can still be purchased in the square today, you'll also find plenty of evening entertainment. From street performers providing music, dance and acrobatic shows, to snake charmers and storytellers, it's a fun spectacle for everyone to see.

Social Media Description
During our three days in Marrakech, we both explored and ate a couple of dinners in the famous Jemaa El Fnaa Square. It's an interesting place during day light hours, but truly unique in the evenings.
Fun fact: The square's name is thought to translate to "Assembly of the Dead". In the early days, public executions were held at Jemaa El Fnaa Square.
