Curious Evidence Found in the Waco Mammoth National Monument

The Waco Mammoth National Monument was established in 2015. It has some excellent examples of a mammoth herd stuck in a river bed and found in modern times. The mammoths have huge tusks and entire family groups have been found. Interestingly there are other prehistoric animals at the site as well such as a North American camel descendent. Although not large, this site is easily accessed from IH-35 and well worth a visit.

Have you visited Waco, Texas?

It seems that not too many years ago, people talked about their stays in Dallas, Austin and San Antonio. You didn't hear many people mention that their visit to Waco, Texas. With Waco's popularity growing, at least partly thanks to Fixer Upper and Joanna & Chip Gaines, more people have added Waco to their wish list. The now famous Silos are definitely a fun visit, but there's more to the city - like the Waco Mammoth National Monument!
