Even from outside of Sequoia National Park in Three Rivers, California, you can't help but notice the large granite rock in the distance. Getting to the top requires climbing up 350 concrete and stone stairs (closed during winter due to snow and ice), but you'll start noticing the views enjoyed by birds just a short way up. Those who are not regular climbers will feel the burn, but by taking it slowly, everyone reaps in the benefits from a good workout as well as amazing panoramic vistas.

We couldn't decide if we really wanted to climb the 350 steps up to Sequoia National Park's Moro Rock! (It was the one place in the park that was most recommended before we entered.) We definitely got our steps in for the day and the views were great - but it was a workout for the two of us.
Some national parks have long waiting lists for camping reservations. When you have to wait a year to sleep next to a tree, something is wrong. - George Carlin
