Dating back to the early 1800s, San Francisco de Asís Church is a National Historic Landmark located in Taos, New Mexico. This piece of history was built by the Taos Pueblo people and is one of few of the city's original buildings that are still in existence. The church was built of mud, straw and adobe and has twin bell towers and an arched entrance. Don't miss seeing the rare "Mystery Painting" inside the church!

Social Media Description
A visit to the 200+ year old San Francisco de Asis Church in Ranchos de Taos made many of the city's "must see" lists. It is the only intact original church in Rancho de Taos and surrounding areas.
Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out going to the mountains is going home; that wilderness is a necessity. - John Muir
