Viewing the Flint Hills from Texaco Hill

Located in the Flint Hills of Kansas is a remote location known as Texaco Hill. Although the road to the top of the hill is unpaved, the reward at the top is a great view of the prairie and rolling Flint Hills. When we reached the top, there was no other person to be seen - just us being watched by all of the nearby cows! A picture just doesn't do the view justice!

Do you enjoy scenic drives?

After our stop at Teter Rock, we continued our drive to see one more rather remote viewpoint. Another gravel road took us to Texaco Hill in the Flint Hills of Kansas. We never saw another car on our drive nor at the top of the hill. Other than it being a very bumpy journey, the views were very peaceful - a few oil pumps, grazing cows and the prairie!

Do you enjoy peaceful scenic drives or do you prefer more exciting views?
