I'm always fascinated by buildings that are unique in one way or another. When we were exploring Eureka
Springs, Arkansas in 2019, one of our stops was at Thorncrown Chapel. The very simple design of the
chapel won some pretty impressive awards including the American Institute of Architecture honors of
Design of the Year (1981), Design of the Decade (1980s) and one of the Top 10 Designs of 20th century.
The design of the chapel is quite simple - but being nearly all glass and set in the woods has a unique
appeal.
