St. Lucia: Recognizing 45 Years of Independence

The Caribbean island of St. Lucia had been occupied by the Spanish, French and British since its discovery in 1502. It wasn't until February 22, 1979 that the island became an independent nation. The year 2024 marks the 45th anniversary of St.Lucia's independence.

What's your favorite way to spend a port day in St. Lucia?

During a previous port day, we joined a small group tour of the island. We even spent a week at an all-inclusive resort last year. This year, we spent most of our day on the cruise ship - planing our next vacation! (We did get off the ship to do a little shopping in the port shops ... and snap a photo recognizing the island's 45th year of independence!)
