Colorado | Ouray | Million Dollar Highway | San Juan Skyway | Bear Creek | Bear Creek Falls | Waterfalls
While traveling on the Million Dollar Highway near the town of Ouray (Colorado), Bear Creek Falls is a "must see stop" along your journey. You'll likely see a crowd of people with cameras along the bridge, and that's a sure sign to pull over. You'll be rewarded with the sight of water plummeting into Bear Creek. For hikers, there is also a trail (Bear Creek Trail) leading to the falls. The trail is reportedly about 4 1/2 miles in total distance (out and back) and is quite strenuous, but with a few smaller waterfalls along the way.

While driving along Colorado's Million Dollar Highway toward Silverton, we passed a lookout that had quite a crowd. It was a stop that I knew we had to make during our return drive - and I didn't even realize that the big attraction was a waterfall!
