Photo Stop at Blue Origin's Launch Site One

In the year 2000, Jeff Bezos (founder of Amazon) started Blue Origin. The company manufactures rockets, rocket engines, launch vehicles and more. Blue Origin has a large contract as a provider for NASA. About half-way between the city of Van Horn, Texas and the visitor's center at Guadalupe Mountains National Park, you'll pass by Blue Origin Launch Site One. Although there is no visitor center at (nor tours of) the launch site, there is a roadside pull-off with a sign perfect to prove you made the drive!

Social Media Description

The first of 7 (or maybe 8) national parks that we wanted to visit during our planned six week long westbound RV adventure was Guadalupe Mountains in west Texas. It was our second time at the park, and we knew the drive from the nearest city (Van Horn) was about an hour long. This time we broke up our drive with a quick photo stop at Blue Origins' launch site!

From the Blue Origin website: "The Blue Origin feather is a symbol of the perfection of flight. It represents freedom, exploration, mobility and progress. For thousands of years, we humans have been looking up at the birds and wondering what it would be like to fly. Now, we look up to the stars and pursue a bright future for all of us."
