Are you a bird lover?
We are not avid bird watchers like some people that we know or have met, but we do love seeing
beautiful birds. It's usually the brightly colored birds that catch my attention.
While driving in America's newest national park, New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, we stopped
at Brooks Overlook. I was reading the sign at the overlook, and noticed a section about an eagle's nest
on Brooks Island. The narrow island is visible from the overlook, so I knew that I had to find the nest.
After telling Scott, we both began our search, and we actually spotted the nest at just about the same
time. After finding the nest, we realized that there were two bald eagles perched on nearby branches.
How cool - certainly not something that we expected to see!
