When traveling US-41 in Michigan's Upper Peninsula near the city of L'Anse, plan a stop at Canyon Falls Roadside Park. With a
large parking area, picnic tables, hiking trails and even restrooms, it's perfect for anyone on a waterfall hunt or just wanting
to break up a long drive. A stroll along the Sturgeon River takes hikers past some smaller rapids to the gorge and home to
the impressive Canyon Falls.

Have you ever spent a day hunting for waterfalls?
The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is home to many waterfalls, so we devoted the day to finding as many as we could. We
encountered two problems during our hunt - the waterfalls are not near each other and this year has been extremely dry. The
drought has caused many waterfalls to be almost unrecognizable. We did find a few - our favorite was Canyon Falls.
