Canyonlands National Park Through Mesa Arch

Located in southeast Utah, Canyonlands National Park has four unique districts. Getting from one district to another takes creative planning and time - it is not as easy as you may think. If you have limited time, consider spending it in the Island in the Sky district. There's a paved road with scenic overlooks along the way. One of the park's popular hikes will take you to Mesa Arch for one of the most amazing views in the park. The hike is under a mile long (round trip) and well worth the effort.

What are your favorite places to see nature in the southwest United States?

By this time in most years, we have travel plans already lined up. Although we do have an upcoming cruise, we don't have any firm schedules for any other 2022 travels. We think we want to head out west again - there's more that we want to see in Utah, New Mexico, Southern California and Arizona. Our previous trips took us to 4 of Utah's Big 5 (this shot is from Canyonlands), but we still want to visit Capitol Reef.
