Utah | Torrey | Capitol Reef National Park | Fremont River Trail | Fremont River Gorge | Waterpocket Fold | Hiking | Picnic | Fishing | Mighty Five
Coming in at just over 1 mile in distance each direction, hiking the entire Fremont River Trail at Capitol Reef National Park rewards hikers with some impressive views. The trail follows alongside the namesake river and does require some uphill climbing to reach both viewpoints for which the hike is known (the Fremont River Gorge and the Waterpocket Fold). Those wanting a shorter hike can walk alongside the river for as long as they want ... and even stop along the way for a picnic lunch (or to do a little fishing).

Once again, we chose not to do the entire hike, but just to get a sampling. Loved the scenery along the short part of the Fremont River Trail that we did complete - the river, the cliffs and even the horses!
