Zambian locals have given Victoria Falls the name "Mosi oa-Tunya" ("the smoke that thunders"). What many consider the largest waterfall in the world is situated on the Zambezi River and can be viewed from both Zimbabwe and Zambia. Signage at Victoria Falls National Park reveals that Niagara Falls (United States and Canada) has the highest average volume of water, Iguazu Falls (Brazil and Argentina) is the widest and Victoria Falls is the tallest.
