Florida | Hillsborough County | Tampa | Zephyrhills | Hillsborough River State Park | Wildlife | Nature | Camping | History | Fort Foster | Fishing | Floating
Hillsborough River State Park, located just outside of Tampa, is probably best known for its wildlife and nature trails. Those who enjoy water
activities, however, may argue that it's the fishing and floating that lure people to this state park. History lovers will likely be attracted to the park
to see either the work of the Civilian Conservation Corps or Fort Foster which was built to protect a bridge important for supply transport during
WWII.

What place have you recently visited where you wish you had more time?
We are now headed from Florida's panhandle toward the Florida Keys. Towing our RV requires a little extra drive time, so we spent one night at
Hillsborough River State Park just outside of Tampa. It's such a short stop that we did not even disconnect from our tow vehicle. I'm actually
a little sad about that because it looks like a great park that I wish we had more time to explore.

I married a woman who loves to camp, and I am what you would call indoorsy. My wife always brings up, 'Camping's a tradition in my family.' Hey, it was a tradition in everyone's family 'til we came up with the house. - Jim Gaffigan
