Exploring Mesa Verde's Balcony House in the Winter

One of the best examples of cliff dwellers in Colorado is found at Mesa Verde National Park. Many dwellings of
ancient peoples from different evolutionary phases can be found in this incredible park. We joined a recommended
tour which allowed us to go into the Balcony House to see the interior. I could barely get through the openings while
bundled up in my winter coat!

Have you been to Mesa Verde National Park?
We had the opportunity to spend only one day at this great park - on the last day that the full hook-up campgrounds
are open. During our visit to the national park, we explored the Balcony House. After climbing up a wooden ladder
on the cliff to enter the ancient dwelling, we had to crawl through some tunnels to go from one room to the other. It
was definitely a tight fit for me with my winter coat on! From so many years ago, the building was quite amazing.
