Explore Mission Concepcion on San Antonio's Mission Trail

San Antonio's Mission Concepcion is the oldest stone church in the United States that has not been restored. Mission Concepcion is the mission that is closest to The Alamo on the Mission Trail. Originally dedicated in 1755, one of the biggest differences of this mission as compared to the others are the original fresco paintings that can still be seen on some of the walls.

Do you remember the last place that you visited away from your home town before the pandemic changed your plans?

We were in San Antonio, Texas just one year ago today. Although our home is less than two hours away, we had never explored The Mission Trail. We did a combination of walking and driving along the trail. Mission Concepcion was the last of the missions that we hadn't previously visited. From there, we made a return visit to the Alamo, had dinner and then went to the Majestic Theater. We saw our last Broadway Across America show (Come From Away) and then returned home the next day. We had no idea that it would be our last trip - for a while at least!
