The distance from the entrance of Petra Archaeological Park to the famous Al-Khazneh (the "Treasury") is approximately one mile in length. If you are on your own and not stopping along the way, the hike can probably be completed in 20 minutes. For those who hike with a guide and/or are interested in seeing and learning more about the sights along the way, the hike will take upwards of 45 minutes. Anticipation rises as you walk through the narrow canyon with tall cliffs on each side known as the Siq (the main entrance to the city of Petra).
