Where, Oh Where Did All of the Sunlight Go?

When the moon passes between the earth and sun, parts of the world experience darkness in the middle of the day in what is called a solar eclipse. The April 8 "Great North American Eclipse" of 2024 is now in the history books! Did you realize that total solar eclipses happen somewhere in the world about every 18 months. But, seeing one in your home city is much less frequent. According to those in the know, a reoccurrence of a solar eclipse in the same city will likely not happen for another 350 or more years.

Social Media Description

Where were you during the 2024 "Great North American Eclipse"?

We reserved a campsite at Miller Creek RV Park in Johnson City, Texas 51 weeks ago (after searching other nearby cities in the path of totality with no luck). Of course, almost a year ago, no one knew what the weather would be like. Despite the clouds, we enjoyed the show!

Did you see the solar eclipse?
