A guided day trip from Porto with "A Day in Douro" is a great way to get acquainted with the vineyards (and wineries) along the Douro River. Your first stop after leaving Porto is in the Vinhos Verdes region at Quinta do Baija, a family owned wine estate. With a glass of wine in hand, explore the vineyard and winemaking operation before a breakfast of traditional hot smoked meat, cheese, traditional breads and more, and of course, some more Vinhos Verdes wines!

Do you like sweet wines?
We are in the minority among our friends, but we both enjoy sweet wines ... so our winery tour in Portugal's Douro Valley was perfect for us. We started in the Vinhos Verde region where we had a light breakfast along with multiple wine samples - whites, reds and espadals (rose). Sure wish we had room in our luggage to bring some home!
We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm, and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open. - Jawaharial Nehru
